3. Find your Audience

You’ll need to find a target audience now that you have a freelancing service to offer. Start creating your avatar by determining the persona who will benefit from your services. Answer the following question.

  • Personal background questions like gender, age, sex, and marriage status.
  • Do they work in a certain industry?
  • What’s their material status?
  • Do these consumers have a common issue and characteristics?

As a newbie in this business, simply being good will not result in landing clients. It’s critical to get in front of potential clients so they can learn about your services. You must be proactive in finding potential clients.

Matching three factors yields ideal clients.

  • What clients need
  • What do you have to offer (service or product type)
  • Where customers communicate their needs

Where to find these clients?

  • Your current network
  • Communities of freelancers
  • Social networks like LinkedIn or Twitter
  • Freelance marketplaces like Upwork or Fiverr
